Can you put oud oil on your skin?
Short answer
Yes, oud oil is traditionally worn on the skin as a perfume oil, one small drop on a pulse point. Woudya sells it as a fragrance and makes no claim about any effect on the skin. Like other essential oils, it can cause a reaction in some people, so try a micro-drop first.
What we sell, and what we do not claim
Woudya oud oil is pure and undiluted, sold for its scent. We attach no benefit to it beyond the fragrance.
Why a first test
Essential oils are complex mixtures, and allergic contact reactions to some of their constituents are documented in dermatology. 1 Nobody can tell in advance whether a given person will react.
Our guidance: one micro-drop on the inner wrist, then wait a day before wearing it regularly. Stop if redness, itching or a rash appears. Keep away from the eyes and mucous membranes, do not apply to irritated or broken skin, and keep the bottle out of reach of children.
Fabric
Oud oil is dark. Apply it to skin rather than directly to light clothing.
