How do you apply oud oil?

Short answer

Take one small drop, or less, from the dropper and touch it to a pulse point: inner wrist, side of the neck or behind the ear. Do not rub. Wait about fifteen minutes before judging the scent, which keeps changing for hours.

Quantity

Pure oud oil is undiluted and concentrated. Our guidance is a single drop, or a micro-drop taken on the tip of the dropper; more oil does not read as more presence.

Where

Warm skin spreads the scent: inner wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears. Keep it away from the eyes and do not apply to irritated or broken skin. 1

Layering

Oud can be worn alone or under another oil. Apply the oud first, wait about five minutes, then add the second oil, for example sandalwood or rose.

First time

Some people react to constituents of essential oils. 1 Before regular use, try one micro-drop on the inner wrist and wait a day; stop if redness or itching appears. See also: oud oil on skin.
