The sacred scent of agarwood — hand-distilled, undiluted, ethically sourced
Oud oil — also known as agarwood oil or liquid gold — is one of the rarest and most precious natural ingredients in perfumery. It forms when Aquilaria trees produce a dark, aromatic resin in response to a natural infection, a process that can take decades.
The result is an oil of extraordinary depth: warm, woody, slightly animalic, with notes that shift from smoky leather to sweet honey depending on the distillation. No two batches are alike. This is not a synthetic fragrance — it is a living material with thousands of years of history across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Japan.
Woudya sources its oud from sustainable plantations where Aquilaria trees are cultivated responsibly. We work directly with distillers who use traditional hydrodistillation methods — slow, patient, respectful of the raw material.
Apply a small drop to pulse points — wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat. Oud oil develops on the skin over hours, revealing different facets as it warms. It can also be used in a traditional incense burner (mabkhara) by adding a drop to a piece of cotton or unscented wood.
A little goes a long way. One drop is often enough for an entire day.
How long does the scent last?
Oud oil is known for exceptional longevity — typically 8 to 12 hours on skin, longer on fabric.
Is this oil diluted?
No. Our oud oil is 100% pure and undiluted. What you receive is the direct output of hydrodistillation.
Where does the agarwood come from?
Our current batches are sourced from sustainable Aquilaria plantations in Southeast Asia.
